Jogwad’s history dates back over 300 years when it was a forested, uninhabited land. The village was founded by Kasamji Kara-Desai, a visionary from Tadkeshwar, Surat, who journeyed on horseback to settle in the area surrounded by dense banyan trees. This is how Jogwad got its name, which has remained in use ever since.
From these humble beginnings, Jogwad grew into a thriving community of around 250 households, with agriculture at its heart. The village has flourished over the years, with its people contributing locally and internationally in various fields, while maintaining a strong connection to their roots.
